Lets meet your No. 1 Masters Amateur Year-End Champion, 𝐊𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐧 𝐒𝐡𝐚𝐰 & 𝐀𝐥𝐦𝐨𝐬𝐭 𝐓𝐨𝐨 𝐓𝐞𝐦𝐩𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 ✨

The equestrienne from Beavercreek, Oregon, began riding “Addie” in 2019 after her own horse was sidelined. Bred and raised by trainer Tammy Mills, the 2015 sorrel overo mare, who is by Almost Too Fancy and out of Icelandic Meadow (TB), proved to be the right match as their connection grew. Eventually, Kristen purchased Addie.

In 2025, Kristen shifted her mindset to focus simply enjoying the ride. The decision paid off.

“I loved my gelding, but he was a little spicy. I even bought a couple of other horses, but I kept coming back to Addie. Eventually, I stopped looking and just bought her. She's the least [mare-like] mare you'll ever meet—quiet, uncomplicated and steady. That's what I love about her... In 2025, I wasn't chasing points at all—I just wanted to enjoy showing my horse."
