Spanish brides are known to wear black lace gowns with a black veil called a mantilla. This garment is said to symbolize the devotion she has for her groom.

As the bride and groom walk back up the aisle after the ceremony, guests throw coins at the couple as a symbol of wealth and success.

𝑪𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒂 🍷
For “交杯酒”, they drink wines when their arms cross each other. It's said that because wine (jiu) in Chinese sounds like another Chinese character(久) which means a long time, this is to symbolize that they will be together forever.

𝑨𝒎𝒆𝒓𝒊𝒄𝒂 🧹
Jumping the broom is a tradition in which the bride and groom jump over a broom after saying their wedding vows. This symbolizes a new beginning and a sweeping away of the past.

𝑮𝒆𝒓𝒎𝒂𝒏𝒚 🪵
Baumstamm Sägen is a tradition in which the bride and groom saw a log in half while dressed in wedding attire. The log represents the first obstacle the newlyweds may overcome.

𝑴𝒆𝒙𝒊𝒄𝒐 🪢
The wedding lazo is a symbolic chord that represents commitment and love between the bride and groom. After wedding vows are exchanged, selected attendants place the lazo in figure eight around the newlyweds to represent the bind between the two.
