Scribes and Mitres, how I like to do them

I use a template made from a scrap piece of skirting with scribes cut both ends to mark my scribes directly on the skirting.

Then cut the bulk of it with my Dewalt mitre saw and finish off with coping saw.
Do you know the name of the piece I made to mark the skirting against architrave?

I used to used Sliding Bevel but much prefer this method.

Do you do the same?
