My job here is to make the itineraries so you don’t have to ! Some of my trips are shorter, so time is always of the essence. I actually enjoy putting together Itineraries, so having a back up plan is never an issue. I much rather have things lined up to do, than nothing at all. Plus now, when I make reels like this with the whole trip already mapped out, I’ve done the legwork, all you gotta do is show up ! Here’s a quick rundown of this Northshore Louisiana itinerary for your next visit : 🏰Fisherman’s Castle [ Irish Bayou ] is so random but kind of cool. It’s supposed to become a B&B but for now it’s just siting there. 🌳Bayou Sauvage National Wildlife Refuge [ Ridge Trail access area ] is one of the largest urban wildlife refuges in the U.S & home to hundreds of bird species & marsh ecosystems. 🌴@PalmettosOTB sits right in the middle of Louisiana’s cypress wetlands, making it one of the most scenic waterfront dining spots in the region. Food was bomb ! 🌳Camp Salmen Nature Park sits on land that was once part of a historic Boy Scout camp & still preserves that quiet, tucked away forest feel. Looked like a painting ! 🌳Bogue Chitto State Park spans over 1,700 acres, it features both river bluffs & swampland which a rare mix of North & South Louisiana landscapes in one park. 🛤️@OldTowneSlidell [ Historic District ] was originally developed around a railroad in the late 1800s, it’s now known for its preserved architecture & small town charm. Get ready to shop ! @MiddendorfsRestaurant [ Slidell ] is famous for introducing ultra thin fried catfish, a style that became a Louisiana staple after starting here in 1934. @LunaTequilaSlidell is a newer local hangout in Olde Towne known for keeping the nightlife scene casual but lively in the historic district. Can you do all of this in one day ? Sure - but staying a night or two on the North Shore is the best way to really get a feel for what this place is all about.
