Sitka Lighthouse

Just a quick ride 🚤
In under five minutes, you leave the noise behind and pull up to something entirely different. A private island that feels tucked away, without ever feeling out of reach. Close enough to access, but far enough to disconnect. 🌊
Vacation

We were cruising past the lighthouse today, nothing out of the ordinary.
Then someone pointed, and everything shifted.
Three orcas were right there in front of us. Not just passing through, they were breaching. One came up, then another, and then all three of them started launching out of the water, over and over, right in front of the lighthouse.
It got loud fast. People yelling, scrambling for their phones, trying to keep up with it. You could feel it in your chest every time they hit the water. And then the perfect picture…
They weren’t just jumping, they were in sync, like they knew exactly what they were doing.
It lasted a few minutes, maybe less, but it felt longer. One of those moments where you’re half watching it and half trying to convince yourself it’s actually happening.
We got it on camera, which almost makes it harder to believe.
Because even now, it doesn’t feel real.

This place was never meant to be flashy.
It was built to guide people home.
It stands as a beacon for fishing vessels and locals navigating Sitka Sound.
Today, it still guides people, just in a different way. We’re simply the current caretakers of a much longer story.
Ask us anything about the lighthouse. We love sharing her history.

Today I’m thinking about the people of the Sitka Lighthouse and the love I have for you all.
The guests who make the trip across the water. The couples who trust this place with their weddings. The families who line up for photos on the deck. The friends who come here to celebrate something big, or sometimes just to breathe for a minute.
The proposals. The champagne toasts. The kids running down the path. The quiet moments at sunset.
My family and friends who have been nothing but supportive of my dreams.
The lighthouse is wood and glass and history. What gives it a heartbeat is you.
I love you all.
