For a group of rugged men adventuring, being asked to stop and pause several times throughout the week may have felt unexpected. They did it anyway…
Observing. Sitting. Breathing. Taking in the beauty. Being in awe.
With hope, these inspiring memories will serve as reminders for them to take time to sit. Allowing nature’s healing magic to take root.

Waypoint Adventure Week was a whirlwind! With a handful of Veterans and First Responders hiking, kayaking, fishing, camping, exploring together on and around the island it was a meaningful and memorable for everyone involved.
When asked about what stood out to him most over the week, Marine Vet Jason Whittier said, “The sheer amount of bonding. I had never met any of
these men before and now I feel like I have friends for life. I feel as close to them as some of the guys I served with. From pizza at the brewery, shopping for gifts, the tubs, kayaking… it was never awkward. It was a joy just being around the men I was around. We are already planning trips that will bring us back together.”
Here’s a capture of the guys hiking the muskegs on Baranof Island behind Goddard Hot Springs.
Do you know someone who would benefit from a week of guided adventure in nature and bonding with other Veterans and First Responders? Tag them in the comments or send us a message.
