Weimer Lab

Today, the Weimer Lab begins a new tradition to honor the brave individuals who have left an enduring mark on our work and our hearts. We start with Noah Van Houtan (who passed away 10 years ago this March), Bridget Kennicott (9 years ago this February), and Laine Van Houtan (8 years ago this February) whose legacies helped drive foundational breakthroughs, including the first ERT for CLN2 and the development of a CLN2 pig model. Through painted memory rocks and a commemorative walk across our research campus, we carry their stories forward as a reminder that patients and families are, and always will be, the reason behind everything we do.

Jill: I am involved in rare disease research because of the incredible families who entrust us with their stories, hopes, and their children - they are the reason we never stop pushing forward. Your strength and partnership keep up focused, grounded, and deeply committed to finding real answers and meaningful treatments.
