Conflict in relationships isn't the problem, itβs how you handle it. π§ π«
Every relationship has friction. The couples and families who do well long-term aren't the ones who never disagree. They're the ones who've learned how to repair after conflict, how to stay in the conversation without it turning destructive.
That's a skill, and like any skill, it can be taught!
Call us at (805) 842-1994 if you'd like to work on this with one of our couples therapists.
Did you know that apologizing and taking responsibility are not the same thing? π§
A real apology acknowledges the impact of your actions without making the other person responsible for managing your guilt. It doesn't include a "but." It doesn't shift focus back to your intentions.
Learning to apologize well is one of the most relationship-changing skills there is. And most of us were never taught how to do it. Send us a DM if this is something you'd like to work on in therapy. πͺ·

Mindfulness isn't about clearing your mind, it's about learning to observe it without judgment, and that's a skill worth developing. π
