This year brought some memorable moments for my boutique law firm. The first, (pictured above) is my law clerk and I in federal court, after a federal jury returned a late night award of $500,000 to my clients in employment discrimination and wrongful termination case. After ten years of practice, it’s never lost on me on just how difficult it can be to convince a jury to see things exclusively my way.  

The second is my firm’s 10 year anniversary. I started my shop at a Panera Bread in Virginia Beach, VA in 2014. I thought I’d give it a shot, after realizing how limited legal employment opportunities were during the 2008 financial crash and i knew I could bring a new perspective that I felt wasn’t there at the time. More importantly, I wanted to take a risk and bet on myself.

Thanks to those that have helped my shop grow along the way - especially Diane Marmelejo, Andrew Nyombi, and Jeanette Henry. Last, but certainly not least, my family for all of their support.

We opened our doors seven years ago this spring. Since then, we have been approached by multiple firms to consolidate, successfully represented hundreds of clients, and argued cases of public importance. Most importantly, our firm has established trust with the community. We look forward to continuing our journey.
