World Food Program USA House of Ruth American Red Cross Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors (TAPS) Lutheran Social Services of the National Capital Area Laurel Boys and Girls Club, Inc.

The First Presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints invites members, their families, and friends to participate in the First Presidency’s annual Christmas devotional broadcast on Sunday, December 4, 2022 at 8:00 p.m. ET.

The program will include Christmas messages from General Authorities and General Officers of the Church. Music will be provided by The Tabernacle Choir and Orchestra at Temple Square.

A giving machine is coming to Washington, D.C. this holiday season.

'Light the World' giving machines expand to more locations "Light the World" giving machines for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints are expanding this holiday season.

In coordination with Colesville United Methodist Church, the White Oak Ward will be hosting a blood drive on Friday, November 11, 2022 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Consider making a POWER RED donation if you are O-, O+, A- or B- blood type.

Please note some new changes:

The Red Cross will eliminate the deferral of donors who spent time in the UK, Ireland or France from 1980 to 2001, who were previously considered to have geographic risk of possible exposure to variant Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease (vCJD) related to mad cow disease.
The Red Cross will also eliminate the deferral for individuals who received a blood transfusion from certain European countries from 1980 to present.
