Do you get to the end of your day without getting to the end of your list? Stop feeling like you’ve failed: Instead of COMMANDS (Do laundry), list OBSERVATIONS (I’m low on socks). It changes your whole relationship with your list. The items naturally prioritize themselves. It’s no-fail. If you don’t get to something, you simply observe: I’m still low on socks. It’s a much friendlier way to interact with your list--and yourself. And you know what? You accomplish more. Try this and see what happens!

This Valentine's Day, try falling in love with your life all over again! Here's how:

We often focus on what isn’t working in our lives. That’s natural. To protect us against threats, our brains are hard-wired to call our attention to things that aren’t right—like the smell of something burning. But when we intentionally shift our focus to what is working, it’s like flipping on the coffee machine: things start to percolate.

Shifting your focus prompts your brain to brew up more more of what you already love. For example, if you love cozy Monday evenings at home, focusing on the specifics of what you love about those evenings (peacefulness, a simple meal, curling up on the couch …), automatically prompts your brain to generate MORE ideas for enjoying these same feelings and activities in other ways and at other times of the week.

Sometimes, it can be that easy to fall in love with your life. Happy Valentine’s Life!

The traits that make up your personal brand are yours for life. But as your life changes, you may find yourself changing the way you define those traits. For example: "Athletic" may be one of your traits. Today, you define it as actively engaging in sports and exercise. Down the road, you may define athletic as physical discipline, goal setting and belief in teamwork. Do you have examples of how you've redefined your own traits?
