Don’t discredit a mom who fought depression, lost over 100 pounds, rebuilt her mental health, and took her life back because of a scar.

That scar doesn’t cancel the early mornings, the workouts, the food choices, the tears, the prayers, or the strength it took to become this woman.

I didn’t choose the easy way out. I chose to keep going when giving up would have been easier.

My scar is not proof that I didn’t work hard. It’s proof that I refused to let the body I fought so hard for be overshadowed by the effects of obesity, pregnancy, and massive weight loss.

Every chapter of my journey matters. The weight loss. The healing. The surgery. The recovery. They all tell the story of a woman who finally chose herself.

So before you judge someone by a scar, remember you have no idea what they had to survive to earn it.
