Basic Necessities
Families spend an average of $150 to $200 a month on diapers alone. For many households in the ArkLaTex, that is not money they have to spare.
At Basic Necessities, we provide free hygiene essentials to families in need across the region. Every dollar we help a family save on diapers and other supplies is a dollar they can put back into their home, their groceries, and their future.
Basic Necessities is the only nationally certified basic needs bank within 300 miles, and we are proud to serve the ArkLaTex region across 17 counties and parishes.
What does that mean for our community? It means local families have a reliable, trusted resource for the supplies they need most. We distribute diapers, feminine products, and incontinence supplies, along with breastfeeding kits, postpartum supplies, and baby formula.
But our work does not stop at supply distribution. We also provide maternal health education and connect families to a network of supportive services, because we know that true support goes beyond just what you can hold in your hands.
If you or someone you know could benefit from what we offer, we want to hear from you. Come see us in person on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 12pm to 4pm at The Highland Center, 520 Olive Street in Shreveport.
