Born June 22, 1952, on the Six Nations Reserve in Ohsweken, Ontario, Canada, Greene was a proud member of the Oneida Nation, part of the Haudenosaunee (Six Nations). Before entering Hollywood, he worked as a welder, carpenter, and high-steelworker—an everyday life he never imagined would lead him to stand among the finest actors on screen.
His breakthrough came with Dances With Wolves (1990), where he portrayed Kicking Bird, a Lakota medicine man. The role earned him an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor, marking a milestone not just for Greene’s career, but for Indigenous representation in film. Determined to honor the role, he spent hours learning the Lakota language to bring authenticity to the character.
But his performance was more than acting—it was a reclamation. Greene once reflected, “I don’t even speak my own language… We were taught not to speak it. It’s like forgetting your heart.” Through his work, he gave that heart a voice again.
Graham Greene passed away in 2025 at age 73, leaving behind a legacy defined by pride, authenticity, and quiet dignity. He showed the world that true strength isn’t loud—it’s the kind that stands tall, even when the world tries to silence you.

Robert De Niro was born on August 17, 1943, in New York City, into an artistic family. He began his career in the 1960s and rose to prominence with roles in Bang the Drum Slowly (1973), Mean Streets (1973), and especially The Godfather Part II (1974), which earned him an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor. He continued to impress with Taxi Driver (1976), Raging Bull (1980 – Best Actor Oscar), Goodfellas, Casino, Heat, The Irishman (2019), and Killers of the Flower Moon (2023). Beyond acting, he co-founded the Tribeca Film Festival, the global Nobu restaurant chain, and is a vocal advocate for social justice, arts education, and climate action. **THE LEGEND OF THE CHEROKEE ROSE**

The Cherokee were driven from their homelands over 100 years ago when gold was discovered in their lands. The journey known as the "Trail of Tears" was a terrible time for the people. Many died from the hardships and the women wept.

The old men knew the women must be strong to help the children survive so they called upon the Great One to help their people and to give the mothers strength.

The Great One caused a plant to spring up everywhere a Mother"s tears had fallen upon the ground on the journey.

He told the old men that the plant would grow quickly, then fall back to the ground and another stem would grow. The plant would have white blossoms, a beautiful rose with five petals and gold in the center for the greed of the white man for the gold on their land. The leaves would have seven green leaflets, one for each Cherokee clan. The plant would be strong and grow quickly throughout the land all along the Trail of Tears. The stickers on the stem would protect it from those who might try to move it, as it spread to reclaim some of the lost Cherokee homeland.

The next morning, the women saw the beautiful white blossoms far back on the trail. When they heard what the Great One had said they felt their strength returning and knew they would survive and the children would grow and the People would flourish in the new Cherokee Nation.
