Another dreaded Jeep Wrangler/Gladiator Instrument Panel failure. Without warning, the screen will go blank. A blank screen makes it difficult to easily access crucial information like fuel level and fluid temperatures. Fortunately, new displays are available without the costly replacement of the entire Instrument Panel. The point of failure in this case appears to be due to a rubbed-through ribbon cable, causing a short within the LCD chassis.

New tech is usually a good thing but Stop/Start systems are one of those advancements that are often difficult to embrace. Not all Stop/Start systems are created equally. Some ESS are smooth and effortless while others are shaky and have noticeable lag. It’s also debatable if the fuel saved is worth the effort and expense. It’s not all bad; engineers have had to improve ICE engines in many ways to cope with Stop/Start systems. ESS equipped vehicles often have a more efficient HVAC system, they start more easily, have better batteries, transmissions are ready to work more quickly, and most have reinforced components.
This Start/Stop starter ironically failed long before its expected service life. There are notable improvements to the design that typically would have made it superior to a pre Start/Stop counterpart. Some of the obvious improvements over a typical modern gear reduction starter are extra brushes with greater height, more magnetic yokes, needle bearings, and even more teeth to contact the flex plate.

One of the best English-made German-influenced luxury cars ever built. The VW inspired Continental is comfortable, reliable, powerful, has decent 4wd, and is oddly affordable to service.
However, the simplest of repairs can be time consuming with such a skillfully packaged automobile. Thousands of components and none are without purpose.

Hyundai AWD coupler replacement. This clever little device is what seamlessly engages the power to the rear wheels on vehicles like a Santa Fe. The problem with these units are that they're not serviceable and have knack for slowly failing without warning.
These AWD couplers are similar in design to a Haldex system used by Volvo, Audi, and VW. Both systems surprisingly do not monitor applied force very well and you don't usually know they are broken until your stuck.
