Nature Works

Earlier this month, Nature Works hosted our annual fire refresher and field day. We had an amazing turnout and got the opportunity to highlight Incident Within an Incident training. Due to drying weather at the end of this week, we are looking forward to finally being able to put fire down next week with our highly trained burn roster!

We may be stuck in the snow now, but last week our RX fire crew was in Broad Run, VA completing a 18 acre understory burn ahead of the storm. This was the first controlled burn of the 2026 spring burn season, and we can not wait to complete many more. This burn was an exciting learning experience and provided numerous ecological benefits.
