The pre spawn largemouth bite treated us well with decent numbers and some big fish. 7 half day outings produced 4 over 20”, a 21”, and 2 at 22”. Unfortunately a detached retina ended my season for a while. Hopefully I’ll be back on the water next week.

Sent a couple meals of perch home with Kipp

We are getting some very nice lake trout as well as plenty of sustainably harvested eaters. The big ones all go back with the exception of the few who are bleeding excessively and wouldn't survive. Smaller mayflies, brown drakes, have been hatching on many lakes and the big hex hatch will be coming any time. Almost all spawning is complete on the vast majority of lakes. W**d growth was a bit behind but is filling in nicely now. Turtles are on the move and will be actively nesting this next week.
