When I say the word sabbath, what kind of things come to mind? I imagine there might be any number of things. You might associate it with Sunday, or worship, or perhaps a set of rules that you were supposed to follow when you were younger. But what does Scripture say about sabbath? This month we'll be exploring that question with a few key passages as we uncover the beauty of this ancient practice. This Sunday, we’ll explore sabbath as God‑given, life‑giving time: a holy pause that grounds us, restores us, and reminds us that God meets us when we stop.

Prayer and Worship at Hope. Prayer is communication: it is a dialogue with God involving requests, confession, or thanksgiving. Worship is adoration: it is the act of honoring, magnifying, and praising God for who He is. Prayer focuses on needs: it often centers on human limitations and divine assistance. Worship focuses on worth: it centers entirely on the character and glory of the creator.
