Natures Rhythms

What if joy feels unsafe?
Let’s pause for a breath.
Summer carries Fire energy. Fire is joy, connection, laughter, passion. But Fire also holds panic, overwhelm, and overcommitment. How often do you say “yes” in the moment, then feel the heat later?
Fire lives in the Now. It sees the bright idea, the fun invitation, the chance to make someone happy. It forgets the calendar. It forgets the body. It forgets limits. And then the nervous system flares. Heart racing. Mind spinning. Worst case stories.
The ancient teachings link Fire to the Heart, the Small Intestine, the Pericardium, and the Triple Warmer. When Triple Warmer stays on alert, stress rises. When the Heart overextends, burnout follows. Have you noticed this in yourself?
The pattern is not wrong. It is energy without balance. Fire transforms darkness into light. It laughs in heavy rooms. It reminds others of love. It brings warmth after long winters. But even Fire needs grounding. Less noise. Fewer promises. More breath.
“Surrender becomes easier when you realize the fleeting nature of all experiences.”
If each moment passes, why cling to every invitation? Why carry every obligation? What would shift if your “yes” came after a pause, not from pressure, but from presence?
Maybe balance is not dimming your Fire. Maybe it is tending it like a hearth. Warm. Steady. Sustainable.
Where in your life is your Fire blazing, and where is it asking for calm?

You are not out of balance. You are out of rhythm.
Breath rises. Gravity pulls. Light and dark. Heaven and Earth. Yin and Yang. Opposites do not fight. They relate. Night needs day. Inhale needs exhale. Your body needs both effort and rest.
Yet you live in your head, on your screen, in your plans. You forget your body. Thich Nhat Hanh said we spend hours each day forgetting we have a body.
So try this. Lie on the ground 🌿 Feel where your back meets the Earth. Notice the weight you carry in your jaw, shoulders, belly. Release it. Let gravity hold you 🌍
Then feel your breath. It moves without your control. In. Out. With every inhale, you lift. With every exhale, you return.
This is natural reciprocity. You breathe in oxygen from trees 🌳 You breathe out carbon dioxide for plants. The same air feeds the bird, the deer, the whale. You are not separate. You participate.
Yin holds. Yang moves. Both live in you. Head and body. Exterior and interior. Action and surrender. Health follows harmony. Traditional Chinese Medicine rests on this truth.
So ask yourself: Where do you push too hard? Where do you resist rest? Where do you brace against life?
Breathe in. Come home to your body. Breathe out. Come home to the Earth 🌊 Let the Earth support you. Let your breath guide you.
Balance is not found. Balance is practiced.
