Shaker Heights Public Library

We celebrated the installation of the Bertram Woods Pollinator Garden with a ribbon cutting and reception on June 27.

Branch Manager Lynne Miller and the garden designer who spearheaded this project, Ann Cicarella (pink floral shirt), cut the ribbon. Library Board president Laura Bernard and Director Amy Switzer held the ribbon. Members of the Shaker Lakes Garden Club and the Rotary Club (organizations who funded the garden) were present, as well as some of the volunteers who did the planting.

The Friends of the Shaker Library ran the refreshments table and activities on the lawn, along with some library staff.

Both Shaker Library locations are closed Saturday, July 4 in observance of Independence Day.

Nothing, and we mean NOTHING — not even a furious 30 minute downpour — could stop us from having fun at Touch-A-Truck last week!! 🚒🚌🚑 And those who stuck around were treated to a rainbow. 🌈😍

Families explored our library van and saw up close how we shuttle materials from one branch to another. When the rain started abruptly, Ms. Sarah pivoted and entertained little ones with a storytime!
