Are you ready if severe weather threatens your area? Knowing where to go can save your life. Before a tornado warning is issued, spot a safe place on the lowest level of your home, away from windows. In a mobile home? Plan to relocate to a sturdy building. ready.gov/tornadoes

There is a very good chance that your neighborhood may be on its own during the early stages following a catastrophic disaster until professionals can respond.
After a catastrophic disaster, citizens will volunteer to help. Without proper training these people can expose themselves to potential injury and even death.
Experience has shown that basic training in disaster survival and rescue skills improves the ability of citizens to survive until responders or other assistance arrives.

โ๏ธ Keep water readily available.
โ๏ธ Schedule outdoor activities for the cooler parts of the day.

Most people do not know what to do during a fire.
And panic can cost lives in seconds.
When smoke fills a room and flames start spreading, every decision matters.
That is why firefighters teach this simple life-saving method:
- R.A.C.E. -
1. RESCUE: Help anyone in immediate danger if it is SAFE.
2. ALARM: Activate the alarm and call emergency responders immediately.
3. CONTAIN: Close doors behind you to slow fire and smoke spread.
4. EXTINGUISH or EVACUATE: Fight the fire ONLY if:
โ It is still small
โ You have a safe exit
โ You know how to use the extinguisher
โ If the fire is growing or smoke is getting thick:
GET OUT FAST.
REMEMBER THE PASS METHOD:
๐งฏ Pull the pin
๐ฏ Aim at the base
โ Squeeze the handle
โ๏ธ Sweep side to side
Smoke can make a room deadly in minutes.
Many fire victims are overcome by smoke before flames even reach them.
โ Stay low under smoke
โ Know 2 ways out
โ Install smoke alarms
โ Practice your family escape plan
Fire is FAST.
Preparation saves lives.
