Sequim Good Governance League

WE ARE SO PROUD!
During this election, 110 community members pitched in for Good Governance, running as candidates, going door to door to meet neighbors, pitching in small donations, waving signs, and more.

Not only did this result in 2 to 1 winning margins for SGGL's endorsed candidates, but it resulted in "through the roof" (relatively speaking) voter turnout in Sequim.

Answer: Everyone has a right to their opinion. But SGGL is MORTIFIED with the prospect of Mr. Black being elected to the Sequim City Council, taking us back to 2020 and 2021. Here are two sets of transcripts from city council public testimony in January 2023. Anyone can do the research to discover the misinformation and disinformation in his comments.

“The efforts to bring low-income housing to the community is really being pushed by the council.” “You talk about an organization, an NGO, helping elderly people put possibly drug addicted homeless people into their homes. And how are we going to do that? Citizens here don’t want that and that’s not going to happen. You guys have been talking about scooters; bringing scooters to the city. I lived and worked in Seattle for 20 years and that’s just a nightmare. It’s for the homeless and that’s what it’s for.” “What I do believe and what I’m hearing from people being who are being shipped in from Seattle, and it’s a regional MAT clinic, that it’s going to come from Seattle, that is not good for Sequim.”

“We’ve seen now and we know of posters posted in Seattle at the Union Gospel Mission that are inviting people to come to the Olympic Peninsula. The poster says, bring your medical kit, your sleeping bag, and a bus ticket and come to the Olympic Peninsula. I wonder who paid for and distributed this? Was it the Sequim City Council? I doubt it. Cuz you guys would never do that. Could it be SGGL? I don’t know, I don’t know. But it surely being pushed here by people that are a part of that. Is it the MAT Clinic? I don’t know, but they said they could make a lot of money if they could get 300 people using their services.”
