Squash bees are, in fact, really gourd, er.... good when it comes to pollinating squash plants. 🐝🎃💯 Being in the genus Peponapis (which means "pumpkin bee" in Greek), what else would you expect? These solitary specialists are fuzzy, fast, and start foraging at daybreak. By the time other bees make their appearance, female squash bees are back in their burrows and the males might be caught snoozing in a closed squash bloom. 😴⁠
