Some days remind us just how extraordinary the collections at Cherokee Ranch & Castle truly are.
Yesterday, we had the privilege of carefully uncrating 16 rare architectural drawings associated with Sir Christopher Wren from Tweet Kimball’s remarkable collection. These exceptional works were previously on a five-year loan to Yale University and are now once again part of the Castle’s collection.
Sir Christopher Wren (1632–1723) is celebrated as one of England’s greatest architects, best known for designing St. Paul’s Cathedral and helping rebuild London after the Great Fire of 1666. These remarkable drawings offer a fascinating glimpse into the world of 17th-century architecture and the legacy of one of history’s most influential designers.
Watching each drawing emerge from its protective crate was a memorable experience for our team. We’re excited to share a few behind-the-scenes photos from the uncrating and hope you’ll enjoy this special look at one of the many treasures entrusted to Cherokee Ranch & Castle through Tweet Kimball’s enduring legacy.

Tweet Tuesday ✨
Did you know?
When Mildred Montague Genevieve “Tweet” Kimball came to Cherokee Ranch in 1954, she had a vision far beyond owning a beautiful castle.
She wanted to create a working ranch and she did just that. With determination and a pioneering spirit, Tweet introduced Santa Gertrudis cattle to Colorado and proved the skeptics wrong.
But perhaps her greatest legacy was ensuring that Cherokee Ranch would be protected and shared for generations to come.
That was Tweet, bold, passionate, and always ahead of her time. 💛
