About to complete Jeff Shara's trilogy on D-Day, the Normandy invasion and the following tough battles of the European war. I highly recommend it. It's easy to forget the sacrifice and horror of Omaha Beach, the Ardennes Forest, the North Africa and Italian campaigns (where my father fought) and many other European and Pacific theaters where many thousands made the ultimate sacrifice some 80 years ago so we can enjoy our freedom today. I'm proud and grateful to be an American. Puts our current turmoil in perspective!
