Dutton-Goldfield Winery
Discover Devil’s Gulch Vineyard, one of the most extreme coastal Pinot Noir sites in California. In this short video, Dutton-Goldfield winemaker Melissa Stackhouse explains how cold winds, fog, and the rugged Marin County coastline near Point Reyes shape the character of this distinctive Pinot Noir.
Known for vibrant acidity, layered complexity, and powerful coastal influence, Devil’s Gulch Vineyard produces tiny yields and intensely expressive fruit that reflect its dramatic growing conditions.

Dutton-Goldfield Winery is proud to announce a new chapter in our history.

Steve Dutton and Karissa Kruse have assumed full ownership of the winery, reinforcing a vision deeply rooted in Sonoma County farming, long-term stewardship, and vineyard-driven wines.
This transition builds on the foundation established since 1998, while bringing renewed focus to the coastal vineyards and the Dutton Ranch sites that have long defined our portfolio.
Alongside this ownership transition, our leadership team continues forward with Head Winemaker Melissa Stackhouse and General Manager Ed Thralls, guiding the next phase of growth and evolution.
As the wine industry navigates ongoing challenges, we see meaningful opportunity in strengthening direct connections with consumers, enhancing hospitality experiences, and telling the stories of the vineyards and people behind each wine.
We’re excited for what’s ahead and grateful to our partners, customers, and community who continue to be part of the journey.

At DG, January isn’t about going dry but about staying connected. We prefer a damp January because it’s less about the pour and more about the people: neighbors catching up, friends warming the winter evenings, and a shared space to keep our community close. Wine has always been a way to bring people together, to slow down, and to remember that local places matter most this time of year. 🍷
We are thrilled to welcome everyone back for our Third Thursday Happy Hour-a relaxed, come-as-you-are gathering about laughter and community. (With cozy bites and wine available and non-alcoholic options too.) January is better when it’s shared 🥂 ♥️
Hope to catch up next week!
