Quick Tip: Boiling water is an effective, non-toxic w**d killer. Pour boiling water directly on to w**ds that have popped up through sidewalk seams, spaces between pavers, and rocky areas.

A tea kettle with a heat-proof handle is handy for this because the spout allows you to pour the water directly onto the w**d. Take care to avoid splashing your ankles! Use more water on w**ds with thicker stalks or longer tap roots and less on those that are smaller and thinner.
