Researchers and staff at Bodega Marine Laboratory in Sonoma County participated in a beach cleanup in September 2009.

Our featured ocean critter today is the sea slug Haminoea. Species of this common sea slug are native to a wide area of the north American coast. They are herbivores that feed primarily on microscopic algae. These two specimens were photographed under a dissecting scope at Bodega Marine Laboratory to highlight their wonderful patterns.
