Voice Acting : The Bad News...
TLDR: Where Da Money At?
If you have a deep, sexy voice and:
- You are UNDER 35: S**t, Explicit Audio, Warhammer, Video Games, YouTube/ Social Media. Doing non explicit work is not gonna bring in coins because this age range doesn't have any money and/or they are heavy into explicit ASMR.
- You are OVER 35: Explicit Audio, S**t, Political Commentary, Professional Grade Audiobooks. Boomers and Gen X have the mpney to shell out for quality comment BUT YOU HAVE TO KNOW HOW TO ACT. You cannot jump on a mic because your voice sounds nice. That's the under 35 crowd.

A grumbled sigh rose from the first voice, and she twisted her head as best she could and blinked back the light, attempting to open her eyes. Instead, a massive hand touched her cheek, steadying her, and the light moved away from her face.
"Can you speak?" The voice repeated, this time even closer. She could feel his breath. "Can you tell me your name?"
"C-c-canoness Sabina ... Marlowe, o-or ..." she paused, saliva rushing to her dry and cracked mouth, "order of the b ... b-Bloody Rose. His h-ho-"
"Adepta Sororitas, we know. Enough." The voice was curt, but not harsh. "Save your strength."

To new VO Actors:
Only do a gig like this if you are new to audiobooks and want to work on your delivery flow for ACX to Audible/Other Digital Platforms. When I say new, I mean a year of solid work but low on Producer Skills.
For Experienced VO Artists:
Never take this. No matter how desperate you are, never take this. This is a 750 to 1200 cost gig depending on word count, audio production and how explicit it is. Remember: S**T SELLS. Negotiate ROYALTIES FOR S**T NO MATTER WHAT. 7 years of Royalties VS 550 upfront? You do the math.
