Another post about the murder of our union brother, Alex Pretty.
The National VA Council is deeply saddened by the loss of one of our own, Alex Pretti, of Local 3669. Alex was an ICU nurse at the Minneapolis VA Hospital and answered the call faithfully every day to care for our veterans. This tragedy has shaken us all because what happens to one of us impacts all of us. We send our deepest condolences to the Pretti family during this difficult time.
To Alex: Your selfless sacrifice to serve our veterans will forever be remembered. May you rest in peace. We will continue the mission you dedicated your life to. - President MJ Burke
We are saddened by the death of Alex Pretti. He was an ICU nurse at the VA and an AFGE member.
He was killed by ICE in Minneapolis. We don't have all the facts yet. Remember that whatever is said about our brother, you can watch the videos and judge yourself what happened.
Rest in Peace, Alex

Today, AFGE 3197 moved out of our office in the VA to our new one. We will continue to represent the employees of the Seattle VA even without our contract.
AFGE is not going anywhere. We will win our contact back. We hope that when we get our office back the Agency will have it nice and clean for us.

This week the VA illegally terminated the contact of AFGE and 4 other unions. We have been kicked out of our offices and had our official eliminated so we can't represent employees. Most importantly, our rights were stripped from us.
AFGE will continue to represent employees in and way we can. We will continue to fight for workers' rights.
