VISIONS’13
In late August 2013 the installation of the world’s largest undersea observatory reached a major milestone. “Plugging into” the deep ocean became a reality with the successful installation of power and communication cables, junction boxes, and the first scientific instruments — including the high-definition video camera deployed in the caldera of Axial Seamount to view an active high-temperature hydrothermal vent.
This year’s VISIONS’18 wrapped on August 5th.
