Margarita Burn isn't just a hook for medical dramas! Officially called phytophotodermatitis, this very real chemical reaction can happen when citrus juice on your skin reacts with UV rays. Just like for the poor patient in The Pitt, it can lead to severe redness, swelling, and painful blistering 😳
🍋‍🟩 Wash your skin thoroughly with soap and water after squeezing limes or lemons
🍋‍🟩 If you can't wash right away, keep the exposed skin completely covered and out of direct sunlight. Sunscreen alone won't stop the reaction.
🍋‍🟩 If you get a burn, don't pop the blisters!! Keep the area clean and let them heal on their own to prevent infection.
