U.S. EPA Northwest Region
A floodplain reconnection project is underway at thešBig Quilcene River floodplain on the northeastern Olympic Peninsula!
The Jamestown S'Klallam Tribe is partnering with The Salmon Center and Jefferson County, WA Government to build a new bridge over the river, replace flood-prone parts of Linger Longer Road, restore the historic floodplain, and create logjams to slow the river. The effort will improve the Tribeās transportation infrastructure, reduce flooding, and improve habitats to help salmon thrive. š
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency provided time-sensitive funding for design work that helped the project meet funding deadlines.
