I spent 24 years as an evangelical Christian. Memorized scripture, led worship, did the missionary thing. So a lot of these stories stopped sounding strange to me a long time ago.

But I wanted to try an experiment: react to 7 core Christian doctrines as if I were hearing them for the very first time as an adult, with no cultural conditioning softening the edges. It got weird fast.
