Boy does this graph look familiar, both in terms of the physical and emotional healing path I have been on personally over the years, and how I experience my patients' progress. Hang in there 🌱
Repost from 📍 When we go through hard times and we want to heal, well, we can be impatient. We often expect that the only way is up.
Unfortunately, that’s not how it works. Healing an progress are not linear. Yes, on average the way is up, but there will be setbacks, hard days, two steps forward and sometimes one back.
This is normal. Please don’t beat yourself up because of this. Just remember: you are doing great ⭐

One of the most important diagnostic tools I use during acupuncture treatment is your pulse.
When I place my fingers on your wrists, I’m not just counting your heartbeat. In East Asian medicine, the pulse gives information about the state of the body’s systems and overall balance.
I’m feeling for qualities like tension, softness, strength, depth, rhythm, and flow. A pulse might feel wiry and stressed, depleted and weak, slippery, tight, floating, or stagnant, each giving clues about how your body is functioning in that moment.
That information helps guide how I choose acupuncture points during your session. The treatment is not just based on symptoms alone, but on what your body is communicating in real time.
Two people can come in with headaches, anxiety, or digestive issues and receive completely different treatments because their pulses tell different stories.
It’s one of the things I love most about this medicine: it’s individualized, responsive, and rooted in listening closely to the body.

This Mother’s Day month, are you a hopeful mom?
Whether you’re just beginning to think about pregnancy, have been trying to conceive, or are moving through the IVF process, acupuncture can be a powerful support for fertility and whole-body health.
In East Asian medicine, we focus on regulating and balancing the body’s systems — supporting hormone health, improving circulation, calming the nervous system, reducing stress, and creating the healthiest possible environment for conception and pregnancy.
For some people, that support helps improve their chances of conceiving naturally. For others, acupuncture works alongside IVF and assisted reproductive care to support the body through what can be an emotionally and physically demanding process.
Fertility journeys can feel isolating and overwhelming. You don’t have to move through it unsupported.

Ear acupuncture works by stimulating specific points on the ear that correspond with different systems in the body and brain. In East Asian medicine, the ear is considered a microcosm, or basically a map of the whole body.
When these points are stimulated, they can help regulate the nervous system, calm the stress response, improve sleep, support digestion, reduce pain, and bring the body back toward balance.
Ear seeds work through the same mechanism as acupuncture needles, just with gentle, continuous pressure instead of insertion. Small seeds are placed on therapeutic points and secured with adhesive so they can keep stimulating the nervous system for several days after treatment.
That’s why ear seeds can be surprisingly effective: they offer ongoing support between sessions and give people a simple, accessible way to stay connected to their bodies throughout the week.

Connection and healing with music and ear seeds 💎
Thank you and for an intimate night of ambient and experimental music and to for having me 🖤
Ear seeds provide pressure to specific acupuncture points in the ear to reduce stress and anxiety. The seeds can be worn for up to a week and provide a subtle calming effect.
If you’re looking for a unique addition to your next event, reach out! I’d love to contribute 🙏

I am deeply indebted to the Asian community for the tradition of East Asian acupuncture and herbal medicine, which I’m honored to practice and through which I make my livelihood. As a White practitioner, I believe it’s important to acknowledge the cultural roots of this medicine and to advocate for and uplift the communities that have carried these traditions forward across generations, especially during May, as we celebrate Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) Heritage Month.
Repost from ✨ Asian Pacific American Heritage Month and Mental Health Awareness Month arriving together feels especially meaningful to us.
Mental health doesn’t exist separately from our cultures, families, identities, or lived experiences. And for many Asian communities, these conversations have often been shaped by silence, pressure, survival, and stigma. This month, we’re creating more space for reflection, connection, care, and conversation.
Throughout May, we’ll be sharing community stories, mental health resources, events, and reflections centered on what healing and belonging can look like for Asian communities.

For my Mom 💞 Because I wouldn't be me without you.
Thank you for teaching me how to be kind. Thank you for showing me that fearless determination doesn't mean sacrificing humor and grace. Thank you for raising me to be both soft and strong in this world. Most of all, thank you for being my Mom. I love you.
Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms out there! I hope you feel celebrated and cherished 💐
And to those who didn’t have a mother, whose mothers have passed, are ill, or with whom the relationship is complicated or distant, I hope you find moments of peace today 🕊️

Have you heard of dry needling? Dry needling is a powerful tool for resolving stubborn pain patterns 🎯
When a muscle fiber gets stuck in a contracted state, what we often call a “knot”, it can disrupt normal communication between the brain and the muscle. The muscle keeps firing instead of relaxing, and this can cause referral patterns, with pain showing up in one area that’s actually being driven by dysfunction somewhere else.
Dry needling targets those dysfunctional muscle fibers directly. By releasing the knots, it helps reset that neuromuscular loop, allowing the muscle to relax, restoring proper movement, improving strength, and reducing pain.
Dry needling can be intense in the moment (boy do I know it!) and it’s common to feel sore for about 24–48 hours afterward. After that you should start to feel a lot better. Movement improves, strength comes back online, tension decreases, and referral patterns begin to resolve. Clinically, I’ve seen it restore movement and strength faster than acupuncture alone in some cases 💪
If you're curious about dry needling, ask me at your next appointment! Schedule at the link in my bio!
