Sometimes the smallest moments create the biggest breakthroughs.

When one mom's son began speech and occupational therapy, one simple recommendation changed everything: read together.

Page by page, story by story, his vocabulary grew. His confidence blossomed. Today, he's communicating more, feeling better, and discovering the joy that books can bring.

And that's where BookSmart, powered by Worldreader, can make a difference. By giving families access to engaging, age-appropriate digital books, BookSmart helps make reading together part of everyday life, supporting language development, building vocabulary, and strengthening family bonds.

Because every child deserves the opportunity to grow, learn, and thrive through the power of reading.

We're getting ready to launch BookSmart's July Reading Challenge, building on the strong results we've seen throughout 2026.

In May, more than 330 families in Kenya participated, completing nearly 1,900 challenge-book reads. Even more encouraging, families who joined our March and May Reading Challenges went on to read an additional 3,500 books on BookSmart beyond the challenges themselves.

These results show that reading challenges do more than drive short-term participation—they help families build lasting reading habits.

We're excited to see what July brings, and we're grateful to our partners and supporters who make this work possible.

At Worldreader, partnerships are at the heart of creating lasting impact.

Through our partnership with La Amistad, Latino students and families in Atlanta are gaining new opportunities to learn, connect, and grow together through BookSmart.

La Amistad’s after-school program uses BookSmart to support bilingual learning in simple, engaging ways that help strengthen academic success and family connection. Together, we’re helping children and parents build confidence, deepen relationships, and create a foundation for lifelong learning.

We’re proud to highlight our partnership with Edovo. 📚🤝

Edovo provides free education, rehabilitation, and upskilling opportunities for incarcerated individuals across the United States, supporting personal growth today and successful reentry into society tomorrow.

Through BookSmart’s integration within the Edovo app on tablets in correctional facilities, families can stay connected through shared reading—bridging distance with stories and making conversations more natural and meaningful when they reunite.

Last year alone, 48,880 learners spent over 64,000 hours reading and learning on the Edovo platform.

We’re excited to continue expanding this work to more facilities nationwide, strengthening family connections and improving outcomes for even more people.
