Happy National Rescue Dog Day!

We’re going to be real with you, because these dogs deserve nothing less than the absolute truth.

Right now, Doberman Rescue is exhausted. We are being flooded with surrenders, shelter pulls, and abandoned Dobermans who have nowhere else to go. At the exact same time, donations are down, dedicated fosters are scarce, and the sheer volume of intake is pushed to the absolute brink.

We are burnt out, running on fumes, and struggling just to keep the lights on.
And yet, here we are. Because when we look into the eyes of a confused, discarded Doberman, we don't know how to quit on them. We refuse to quit on them.

We know that welcoming a rescue dog into your life is a massive commitment. It takes patience, time, and often, significant lifestyle changes. They aren’t always a "plug-and-play" pet. But these noble, loyal, sensitive dogs just need someone to give them a chance to thrive. They need a safe place to land while they figure out that the world isn't a scary place anymore.

The heartbreaking reality is simple: We cannot keep saving them without you.
If you have ever thought about opening your heart, your couch, or your yard to a Doberman in need, the time is right now. We desperately need dedicated fosters who can provide a temporary safe haven, and loving adopters ready for a lifelong partner.
Please, head to our website and complete an application today.

We will never stop showing up for them. But we simply cannot do it alone. 💔🐾

UPDATE: Pending adoption!
Gambit
Gambit spent time wandering Northern California as a stray, but don't let that "roughing it" past fool you—he is a total gentleman at heart. At approximately 3 years young, he is a classic Doberman who has absolutely no concept of personal space. If there is a lap available, he’s in it, and if there’s a face nearby, he’s ready to lean in for some love.
While he is still working on "refined" house manners, Gambit is incredibly food-motivated and genuinely loves to train. With a little guidance and a predictable routine, he has all the potential to be the best companion imaginable.
The Lowdown on Gambit:
Social Butterfly: He enjoys dogs of all sizes and would thrive with a playful buddy who can match his energy.
Farm-Friendly: Having met cats, turkeys, and other farm animals, Gambit remains totally unbothered and tends to just ignore them.
Kid-Approved: He has met children and showered them with plenty of affection.
The Perfect Student: Smart and eager to please, Gambit is ready to learn for anyone with the patience to teach him.
He is neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped.
Gambit is looking for a stable, loving home where he can finally settle down and be part of the family. In exchange, he promises to be a loyal companion full of "Doberman leans" and goofy smiles.
He is currently in a foster home in Olympia, WA, and looking for a forever home to adopt him.
