I'm hosting a clothing swap in March at the Creativity Loft! Clean out your closet, get really honest about what you want to keep, bring your pre-loved clothes to the swap, and get different stuff in exchange. I'll be there to do some styling, chat about taking style risks, and get on a soapbox about body neutrality (just kidding but not really)! It's totally free, though we ask that you register for the event so that we know how many people to expect. Keep in mind: The more people we have, the more sizes and styles will be represented, so bring all your friends and all your stuff! It will be a fun Saturday morning hang out. Feel free to share this among your community as well!
Clothing Swap Join us for a clothing swap on Saturday, March 7 from 10am to 1pm at the Creativity Loft in Shoreline.

We all have a responsibility to know from where our facts come. This article peels back some of the layers behind why it's so difficult to get straight-up, research-based data on the fashion industry -- and why it's so important to have those accurate stats. Worth a read.
"[C]ompanies still donât know what is happening in their supply chains and so have no baseline for what they will cut their emissions from. Some of this bad data has even cynically been pressed into service to increase our consumption. 'By purchasing a product, visitors fully understand their positive environmental impact!'"
"Itâs clear that before we do anything else â demand legislation, invent new textiles, set targets â we need to figure out what research we need, then ask the government and big brands to fund it. 'This stuff isnât rocket science, [t]he industry just hasnât invested and prioritized this information. And if we donât invest as an industry in this process, any company can say anything and we canât say yes or no on whether itâs a meaningful process.'"
Stay awake out there, dear readers!
Fashionâs impact on the environment is actually a mystery Questionable facts plague the conversation around sustainability and fashion, and that makes the industry harder to regulate.
