Canlis Glass

I had no idea as I headed out into the art world as a naive 18 year old that Punahou School’s glass program is world renowned. That’s where I’m from and I’m proud of that. Heading back to where it all started to celebrate ‘50 Years of Glass’ at Punahou and those that made it what it’s become.
I owe them a lot, arguably everything. Totally honored!

I’ve had this piece in my head for 13 years.
I didn’t know the questions or the answers I needed to make this sculpture correctly until I was asked to create it.
Then I was asked.

-“When It Rains, It Pours” 2023
-Hand pulled and flame worked glass.
-711 pieces of glass ranging in length from 2’6” - 11’.
