*What YOU have to offer is so important!* I FULLY believe this for other people, so I have to believe it for myself, too. I would NEVER tell a friend (or my son!) that their gifting or dreams aren’t unique enough or important enough…! So why would I let myself believe that lie? I think back on times when there has been a quote in a book, a line in a song or a clip from a podcast interview that changed my entire perspective of a situation or motivated me during a critical time in my life. All it takes sometimes is one interaction or one line of encouragement to make a difference. Your story IS important, what YOU uniquely have to offer is important. And it may be the light someone else needs to keep their own fire going. ✨

“But people might think I look dumb!”

Over the years, I have learned that the cost of letting other people’s opinions rob me from pursing my gifts and calling is much too high. Even if it’s only my husband who understands what I am doing...that is enough. I do not need the approval of a bunch of people - God is the very first person I am accountable to and what Him & I have got going on is so much more important than getting approval from other people who won’t / don’t / can’t understand my why or what.

I remember when I moved back to my home state after living in Nashville for 6 years and I was worried people were going to think I was a “failure” for leaving Nashville and moving back home. In those moments I also had to think “Am I worried that other people might think I am a failure because I think that about myself?” Sometimes that is the case...it can be our own insecurities about ourselves that can make us *feel* like other people will view us with that same lens. It’s important to take the time to investigate those feelings we have about ourselves. Usually it’s fear of failure and we can combat that with prayer, the courage to “do it any way!” and with motivation from the testimonies of others who have gone before us in their callings.

Be accountable to yourself, to God and to your little fam tribe and let all the other noise just fade away. Stay focused, write down your “why” and hold onto it tight. 💯
