Ever experience a hyperfocus hangover? Yesterday, I spent several hours in a state of deep, flowy work. It felt hard to disengage and also was "fixing a broken printer" (that's a metaphor for taking the time to solve a bigger problem) in the moment, but today?

The motivation is there, but like molasses, and the energy is lagging . If your brain needs a bit of a reset after a big push, that is not a flaw in your system.

It is just the reality of how we spend our energy. Instead of trying to brute-force my way through a high-intensity list today, I am choosing to honor that rhythm—working with my energy rather than against it.

Living in our Shoreline and Seattle coffee corridor often means navigating a high-frequency world where the hum of a busy cafe or an open office feels like it’s scraping against your focus.
