False complaints from guests are not uncommon, and they may use this tactic to try and get their cleaning fee refunded.

It doesn't happen often, but it's happened enough times that we've created a way to protect the host, the guest and our cleaners.

Where this has already happened. We always take photos of every room after cleaning, so we have proof of how the cleaning team left the space.

If a guest makes a false complaint, we ask them to send us a photo of the issue, so we can compare it to our own photos.
