Stripping paint is the bane of my existence but this baby is SOLID wood and I just know there is a beauty underneath.

Truth is, I’m starting to really lean into not painting as many pieces, especially solid wood. Don’t worry, I still like painting pieces too but I’m just trying to trust my gut and right now, it’s all about bringing things back to natural wood.

I can’t wait for you to see this piece finished!

As a multifaceted artist, the bane of my existence is being forced to niche down.

Believe me I have tried.

It’s just not me so I stopped trying.

Recently people have been making comments on older videos about how annoying it is that I call myself childfree as opposed to childless.

First, I just think it’s weird you care so much. But more importantly, words matter and our interpretation of them matter. If I were to say I’m childless, to me, I’m saying my life is less because I don’t have them. But I don’t feel that way.

I say childfree because I DO feel free (now) not having them for many reasons but mainly because I have found peace in it. Cancer took away that possibility and instead of feeling sorry for myself I’ve found happiness and joy in what my reality is.

If you get triggered by my use of the word free you may want to do a little soul searching as to why. Not everything has to be about you 😉
