"Joy Egbejimba was a friend to Seattle Fashion Collective. More importantly, she was a visionary leader in every sense of the word. And on a personal note, she was my friend and mentor offering advice when I was too young and foolish to know any better...And while she is deeply missed, she will forever be celebrated for the great light she brought into our world."
SFC founder and editor A.M. remembers the many times Joy brought her irrepressible light into our lives, sharing past memories and lessons learned along the way. Please take a moment to remember Joy's kindness as well as her clear impact within our local and international fashion communities. Feel invited to view our Celebration of Life. And send love and kindness to her family during this difficult time.

“I consider Seattle now my home. I’ve met incredible people—models, designers, makeup artists, photographers—and I've been looking forward to every opportunity to work with them. It's wonderful to see that there's so many people supporting each other. I can see that everybody's tagging each other on social media. I’m like, 'Oh my God, they’re really working as a team!' They don't even know each other. But that's so cool. People in Seattle just like supporting other people's work."
For the next installment in our Spotlight series, former Tijuana-based fashion designer Iván Delfín opens up about his life and career, from his early days as an intern and working for Benito Santos, to owning a studio in Tijuana and then San Diego, to the impact that The Pause had and is still having within our community, to why Seattle is an incredible city for fashion, and much more.
