AARP Washington is asking people to recognize extraordinary volunteers in our communities by nominating them for the 2026 Andrus Award for Community Service. The award honors Washingtonians age 50 and older whose volunteer work has made a lasting difference in their communities.

Nominations are open now through Sept. 15, 2026.

The 2027-2030 Area Plan is the roadmap to further our vision of a community where people thrive at every stage of life. It describes the function of Seattle Human Services' Aging and Disability Services division as the local Area Agency on Aging, presents relevant demographic trends, and outlines the major goals and objectives to be achieved over the course of four years.

A five-week public comment period on the plan begins TODAY and ends Aug. 17. This is your chance to review and comment on the plan.
