Programs Specialist and Teaching Artist Yasmine Kaner Yaz led workshops with students, inviting them to share their ideas through drawings. Their artwork became a part of the final design of the electrical box that was created in memory of Ms. Wanda, Beacon Hill Elementary’s beloved crossing guard. Ms. Wanda made every student feel seen. She was known for remembering every child’s name, carrying dog treats in her pocket, loving animals, and bringing warmth and kindness to everyone she met. ❤️ Thank you to the Beacon Hill Elementary community and Seattle Public Schools ❤️

💙 As the World Cup comes to a close for Seattle, we’re reflecting on the energy, color, and community it brought to the city.
🎨Artist Bridget Boerse made joyful designs that are spread across SLU stairways inspired by waves, sun, clouds, and the spirit of summer in Seattle.
☀️🎨 Many thanks to the 26 artists who painted 5 staircases in one night! Take a summer stroll through South Lake Union to see them all!
