Thank you , , , volunteer dressers, models, hair/makeup artists, production crew, photographers, for putting up such a wonderful event and giving space for designers. I’m not one for cliches, but that really felt like a community. And, of course, thank you to everyone who showed up. ❤️✌️
Personally, starting from a place where the main purpose is to experiment and create energizes me. “Living Light” is the working title for this collection, finished just a few days before the show 😅. Though, in fact, I have had this print and designs saved up in my laptop for a few months now and needed a good push to get me to a “just do it” mindset.
More to come! ✨
Cheers,
Angeline

Throwback to Liminal, by T.H.E Dance Company
Designing costumes for contemporary dance has been an exciting experience. Since taking on more show/stage work, I’ve been itching to push boundaries. And what this project has done is bring me back to conceptual design roots from Amsterdam days (over 10 years ago 😬), which just feels so good, expanding on one’s creative and technical capacity. I’ve learnt so much as well about the impact of collaboration: how costumes influence choreography and vice versa, how lighting affect costumes, how lighting and sound play together, how interwoven the entire performance is, and the artistry of the dancers and choreographers who bring the stage to life.
