This afternoon, a deputy made a routine traffic stop for a vehicle with expired tabs. After speaking with the driver for a few minutes, the deputy learned that the man was juggling two jobs and struggling to support his family. Although he knew his tabs were expired, he simply hadn’t had the funds to renew them.

Moved by the driver's situation, the deputy offered to assist by renewing the tabs for him. While at the licensing office, the driver shared more of his story—he was supporting not only his significant other and their kids, but also some of his relatives' children. It had been a challenging couple of years for him and his family.

Thanks to the Benton County Sheriff Foundation Community Care Fund, the deputy was able to step in and help by renewing the driver’s tabs. While this small gesture didn’t erase all the man's worries, it was a reminder that sometimes a simple act of kindness is enough to give someone hope when they need it most.
