The creative director wanted me to include all of his favorite things in his birthday set. When he saw my mockup, he was firm that the Rubik’s cube wasn’t accurate, and he sent me a text with the proper color arrangement 🤪 he’s in 5th grade now, and he still asks for cookies to give to his whole class and all of the teachers…I kind of hope he asks me forever.

So grateful for my kiddos teachers this year. Can’t believe we are surviving the twists and turns this past year has brought..bigger thanks than EVER to all you educators out there. You are amazing!

Hi, it’s me again! 👋🏼
I’ve had a whole glorious month off between semesters (I’m back in college!) and I have been itching to make cookies again. My friend Candace over at was sweet enough to include me in a little Cinco de Mayo collab she was putting together, and since I’ve wanted to make these cookies forever, it was finally time! Man do I miss this!
Anyway, I hope all you cookie friends and non-cookie friends are doing well :) happy Cinco de Mayo a day early!

Will be hard to give these ones away today 😂 but the birthday boy, brian, is a dear friend of mine and I can’t wait to see his reaction to them! Happy birthday, Brian!!! 🎈 ♥️
Couple of notes about aquafaba (vegan) icing....although it works and dries almost the exact same way as traditional royal icing, it is much fluffier and less dense. I came to realize this means a very porous surface area, so when I tried to watercolor the cookies afterwards, the icing soaked up the liquid instantly. It didn’t go quite the way I planned, but I was able to adjust and flex. And the end result is pretty cookies that even our vegan friends can enjoy! Super rewarding feeling :)
