The beautiful queen of our house () doesn’t love a lot of attention… but I can’t help sharing this story.

On Mother’s Day Eve, Hannah came inside and started telling me about this little bird on our porch that just kept talking to her. (And she said, she talked back.) Sitting nearby. Chirping over and over like she was trying to say something.

The next morning, my wife went into the garage and found tiny baby birds fluttering around on the floor… and that same mama bird nearby.

She looked at me and said, “I knew she was trying to tell me something.”

Without hesitation, she made sure our dog stayed out the garage, opened the door carefully, created a safe little pathway, and we just sat there watching these tiny birds slowly figure out their wings.

To my surprise, it only took them about 2–3 hours before they were strong enough to take off.

And honestly… it made me emotional watching her.

Watching mothers protect. Watching mothers notice. Watching mothers guide. Watching mothers care for things that can’t fully care for themselves yet.

I’m just grateful to be in the classroom.

Thank God …for the beautiful spirit that walks around our home mothering, guiding, protecting, and healing all at the same time. Hannah Lovett.
